Where Flowers Bloom - Cross Stitch design by Nicola Parkman (PDF)

Where Flowers Bloom is a small design by Nicola that has been inspired by a border found on an antique sampler in her collection and her own garden. Blank graph paper and a chart of an alphabetic and numerical font has been included so that you can personalise your sampler. We hope that you enjoy stitching the sampler and that it will brighten your days.

The project has been rated as suitable for needleworkers of all levels of ability and can be stitched either on Aida, Linaida, or linen.

The sampler has been designed using a palette of sixteen colours from Au Ver à Soie’s range of Soie 100.3 We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger and DMC. Only one spool or skein is required whether stitching on 28ct or 56ct –Aida, Linaida, or linen.

Linen Sizes

The model was stitched using 56ct Zweigart-based linen that was overdyed to the shade Marbled Pointer from xJuDesigns.

The sampler can be stitched on Aida, Linaida, or linen, and we recommend that you use a count and fabric that you enjoy working with.

The design area is 139 stitches (w) x 167 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3″ margin for finishing and framing.

14ct Aida / 28ct linen: Design: 9.93″ x 11.93″ Fabric: 15.93″ x 17.93″

30ct linen: Design: 9.27″ x 11.13″ Fabric: 15.27″ x 17.13″
