The sampler, designed and stitched by Nicola as a Valentine’s Day gift for her husband, has been inspired by samplers in her private collection. Nicola chose colours that are taken from her husband’s favourite shirt.

The sampler would also make a gorgeous wedding sampler, a sampler to commemorate a wedding anniversary or just to celebrate love.

Thy Love Divine has been stitched with a palette of nine colours from Au Ver à Soie’s range of Soie 100.3. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger and DMC. Only one spool or skein of each colour is required, with the exception of Soie d’Alger 4526 if stitching with 2 strands on 36ct or lower.

Nicola stitched her sampler on Weeks Dyeworks 56ct Zweigart-based linen in Confederate Grey. You should choose either linen, Linaida, or Aida in the count and colour that appeals to you.
