Palace of the Winds - A Study in Variegated Threads. This is a special piece. It is the first in a collection I am calling Cross Stitch Lab. Cross Stitch Lab will contain designs that are meant to teach in depth different aspects of cross stitch, or to take cross stitch outside of the box.
This design focuses on the study of variegated threads. Not only the different styles of variegated threads on the market today (from almost solid/tonal to highly variegated) but also the various ways to stitch with them to highlight these differences.
The floss used is Cottage Garden Threads. I also provide a conversion to DMC. It is charted in both the burgundy colorway and the green colorway.
The color names are Burgundy Bark, Geranium and Katie's Blush for the burgundy colorway and Murray Pine, Blue Cypress and Cottonwood for the green colorway. The DMC conversions are Burgundy - 902, 223 and 819 and Green - 501, 503 and 927.
Let me know if you need the CGT to stitch either colourway.
