Matilda Isabella Creasy 1852 is a reproduction of a stunning original sampler in our collection from Suffolk, in the East of England. It contains the Christmas carol ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ as the verse, beautiful flower motifs, a swan, a cow, a squirrel, birds, crowns, flags and all manner of other features.
The pattern is 318 x 256 stitches and is mostly full crosses over 2 but also includes four-sided stitch, Algerian eyelets and over one, meaning it would not be suitable for stitching on Aida. Our model is stitched using 1 strand of floss on 36ct 'Foglifter' from R & R Reproductions. We have used Weeks Dye Works threads for our reproduction
