Mary Ann’s dainty sampler has been reproduced with a palette of 12 colours from Au Ver à Soie’s range of Soie 100.3. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger (SDA) and DMC below. Only one skein or spool is required on 36 to 56ct linen. Two skeins of SDA#2146/DMC#3011 will be required when working on a lower count of fabric.

The model was stitched on a Zweigart-based linen overdyed to the shade “Old Sheep” by xJuDesigns. The sampler has been rated as suitable for needleworkers of all abilities and is worked in cross stitch over 2 threads of linen. It can be worked on Aida, Linaida, or linen. The design area is 155 stitches (w) x 162 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3″ margin for finishing and framing.

14ct Aida/28ct linen: Design: 11.07″ x 11.57″ Fabric: 17.07″ x 17.57″

16ct Aida/32ct linen: Design: 9.69″ x 10.13″ Fabric: 15.69″ x 16.13″

18ct Aida/36ct linen: Design: 8.61″ x 9.00″ Fabric: 14.61″ x 15.00″

20ct Aida/40ct linen: Design: 7.75″ x 8.10″ Fabric: 13.75″ x 14.10″
