House on the Hill - Cross Stitch Pattern by Ellen Chester

This design was originally published in 2006 as part of A Most Noble Pursuit, a collaboration sampler with that I did with nine other designers. A Most Noble Pursuit has long been out-of-print. This is my design from the larger sampler now offered separately as a framed piece.

The model was stitched using Needlepoint, Inc. silk thread on 36-count Light Examplar linen from Lakeside Linens. The stitched area is 4-3/8-inches wide x 6-5/8-inches high. DMC substitutions are listed in the directions.

Stitch count: 80 wide x 120 high

Stitches used: backstitch, colonial knot, cross stitch, cross stitch over one linen thread, half stitch, satin stitch over two linen threads, straight stitch, and tent stitch.
