Georgiana’s monochrome sampler has been reproduced and stitched with Soie 100.3 from Au Ver à Soie, and we have included below conversions for Soie d’Alger (SDA) and DMC. We have used Soie 100.3 #774 which is a slightly mellowed black. You might prefer to stitch with Noir for a bolder look.

Soie 100.3 #774 or #Noir ~ 1 strand on 40 to 56ct, 1 spool.

SDA #Noir ~ 1 strand on 36 to 46ct, 1 skein; 2 strands on 36ct, 2 skeins; 2 strands on 28 to 32ct, 4 skeins.

DMC #310 ~ 1 strand on 40 to 46ct, 1 skein; 2 strands on 36ct, 2 skeins; 2 strands on 28 to 32ct, 3 skeins.

 Linen Sizes

The design area is 160 stitches (w) x 174 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3" margin for finishing and framing. The model was stitched on linen overdyed to a shade of Woodsmoke by Tabby Cat Linen.

28ct linen: Design: 11.43" x 12.43" Fabric: 17.43" x 18.43"

32ct linen: Design: 10.00" x 10.88" Fabric: 16.00" x 16.88"

36ct linen: Design: 8.89" x 9.67" Fabric: 14.89" x 15.67"

40ct linen: Design: 8.00" x 8.70" Fabric: 14.00" x 14.70"

46ct linen: Design: 6.96" x 7.57" Fabric: 12.96" x 13.57"

56ct linen: Design: 5.71" x 6.21" Fabric: 11.71" x 12.21"
