Emilie’s delightful sampler has been reproduced with a palette of thirteen colours from Au Ver à Soie’s range of Soie 100.3. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger (SDA) and DMC below. You will only need one spool or skein of each colour with the exception of SDA 136 (3 skeins for 28 to 32ct) and DMC 3808 (2 skeins for 28 to 36ct) when using two strands of thread.

Linen Sizes

The sampler can be worked on Aida, Linaida, or linen. The model was stitched on Zweigart-based linen overdyed to the shade “Cat’s Whiskers” by Tabbycat Linen. The design area is 147 stitches (w) x 215 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3″ margin for finishing and framing.

28ct linen: Design: 10.50″ x 15.36″ Fabric: 16.50″ x 21.36″

32ct linen: Design: 9.19″ x 13.44″ Fabric: 15.19″ x 19.44″

36ct linen: Design: 8.17″ x 11.94″ Fabric: 14.17″ x 17.94″

40ct linen: Design: 7.35″ x 10.75″ Fabric: 13.35″ x 16.75″
