Thread Legend

Elizabeth’s sampler has been reproduced using a palette of 8 colours. The model was stitched using Soie 100.3 from Au Ver à Soie, and we have included below conversions for Soie d’Alger (SDA) and DMC. Only one spool or skein of thread is required whether working on 28 or 56 count linen.

Linen Sizes

The design area is 174 stitches (w) x 219 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3″ margin for finishing and framing. The model was stitched on 45ct linen in Jersey Cream from Legacy Linen. The comparable colours in the Legacy range are Russian Teacake in 37ct and Victoria Sponge Cake in 30ct.

28ct linen: Design: 12.43″ x 15.64″ Fabric: 18.43″ x 21.64″

32ct linen: Design: 10.88″ x 13.69″ Fabric: 16.88″ x 19.69″

36ct linen: Design: 9.67″ x 12.17″ Fabric: 15.67″ x 18.17″

40ct linen: Design: 8.70″ x 10.95″ Fabric: 14.70″ x 16.95″

46ct linen: Design: 7.57″ x 9.52″ Fabric: 13.57″ x 15.52″

56ct linen: Design: 6.21″ x 7.82″ Fabric: 12.21″ x 13.82″
