The project has been stitched using cross stitch over two threads and is rated as suitable for needleworkers of all levels of ability.

The reproduction of Eleanor’s sampler can be stitched on linen and the adaptation can be stitched either on Aida, Linaida, or linen.

Eleanor’s sampler has been reproduced using a palette of seven colours from Au Ver à Soie’s range of Soie 100.3. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger and DMC. Only one spool or skein is required whether working on 28ct linen / 14ct Aida through to 56ct linen. Please note that only 10 stitches are worked in 222/3045/917.

Linen Sizes

The model was stitched using 56ct Zweigart-based linen that was overdyed to the shade Aged Paper from Foxglove and Lace Linens (contact via Instagram). The sampler can be stitched on Aida, Linaida, or linen, and we recommend that you use a count and fabric that you enjoy working with.

The design area is 129 stitches (w) x 165 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3″ margin for finishing and framing.

14ct Aida / 28ct linen: Design: 9.21″ x 11.79″ Fabric: 15.21″ x 17.79″

30ct linen: Design: 8.60″ x 11.00″ Fabric: 14.60″ x 17.00″
