Dorothy’s sampler has been reproduced using Soie 100.3 #523 (Soie d’Alger #2916/DMC #347). You will only require one skein or spool when working on 36–56ct linen with 1 strand of thread. If using 2 strands of SDA on 28–32ct, you will require 3 skeins. If using 2 strands of DMC on 28–36ct, you will require 2 skeins.

 Linen Sizes

The sampler can be worked on linen or Aida. The design area is 135 stitches (w) x 145 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3" margin for finishing and framing. The recommended fabric is a Zweigart-based linen that is overdyed by Needle and Flax to a shade of Dirty Tea Cup.

14ct Aida/28ct linen: Design: 9.64" x 10.36" Fabric: 15.64" x 16.36"
16ct Aida /32ct linen: Design: 8.44" x 9.06" Fabric: 14.44" x 15.06"
18ct Aida/36ct linen: Design: 7.50" x 8.06" Fabric: 13.50" x 14.06"
