An extra fine “Z” twist spun silk that is 130/2. This is a beautiful silk for silk shading and other fine embroidery techniques. It is also wonderful for counted thread work on the higher thread count linens. Brilliant for 45 count linen and higher or over 1 on 40 count.
Recommended for piecing, hand applique and long-arm quilting machines. Does not add bulk to seams as silk thread compresses when ironed, cotton does not—a critical issue when working with fine points in piecing and machine applique. For hand applique this thread is easy to use and disappears into the fabric.
Soie Surfine shares the same colour system as Soie Perlee. Spools contain 100 meters.
