Ann’s sweet sampler has been reproduced with Soie 100.3 from Au Ver à Soie using a very pretty palette of eight colours. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger and DMC below. Only one spool or skein of each colour is required when stitching on 14ct Aida through to 56ct linen.

Linen Sizes

The sampler is executed in cross stitch over two threads and can be worked on Aida or linen. It is rated suitable for beginners through to advanced needleworkers. The model was stitched on a 56ct Zweigart-based linen that has been overdyed to a shade of Muddy Duck by Tabbycat Linen. The design area is 136 stitches (w) x 119 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3″ margin for finishing and framing.

28ct linen: Design: 9.71″ x 8.50″ Fabric: 15.71″ x 14.50″

32ct linen: Design: 8.50″ x 7.44″ Fabric: 14.50″ x 13.44″

36ct linen: Design: 7.56″ x 6.61″ Fabric: 13.56″ x 12.61″

40ct linen: Design: 6.80″ x 5.95″ Fabric: 12.80″ x 11.95″

46ct linen: Design: 5.91″ x 5.17″ Fabric: 11.91″ x 11.17″

56ct linen: Design: 4.86″ x 4.25″ Fabric: 10.86″ x 10.25″
