Agnes Husband 1862 ~ Reproduction Sampler Pattern by Hands Across The Sea Samplers (PDF)

The sampler is executed in band form with cross stitches over two threads of linen. Each band is separated by a dividing row worked in a different pattern. Agnes diligently recorded not only her name, the year she finished her sampler and her age but included “Wigton” the place that she lived.

Agnes’ delightful sampler has been reproduced with a palette of 3 colours from Au Ver à Soie’s range of Soie 100.3. We have provided conversions for Soie d’Alger and DMC. Only one spool or skein of each colour is required.

The model was stitched on 45ct Legacy Linen in Foxtail Millet. For a lower count of linen we would recommend Legacy Linen Corn Tassel in 37ct or a colour similar to DMC shades 712 or 739.

LINEN SIZES

The design area is 52 stitches (w) x 205 stitches (h). Our calculations have included a 3″ margin for finishing and framing. If working on an uneven linen such as 52/62 we would recommend that you orientate your linen so that the lower count is on the horizontal.
